# Sponsors (Event & Annual)

City Leaders Call on Sponsorship:

Listen to a city call that was all about how to gain sponsors, incentives to use, how to ask, and how to engage with businesses, churches and individuals to get them sponsoring!

Watch the call here! --> <https://youtu.be/9u7mlyGxVSs>

## What to call donors?

There are many "types" of donors (in-kind, donors, sponsors, partners!) - do what makes sense for your city, but have a plan! Break each down, to the best of your knowledge, as it will help set you up for success in the future. Some cities have sponsors for every event, every project, and every need with potentially different names for each. Others only have "Event sponsors". Some have found that differentiating between "year-round" support vs a one-time gift is helpful. A "sponsor" also typically does not receive a year-end giving statement (ie a tax break) where as a donor would. Please don't hesitate to email us if you have more questions about this!
